Today I began a new journey, a passion, a hobby. I decided about 3 weeks ago to enroll myself in a Wilton Cake Decorating class at my local Michaels. There are a total of 4 course in which each course is approximately 4 weeks long. In my first course I will learn how to make buttercream, copy a pattern, make the wilton rose, along with other general flowers. For the most part, I have my basic supplies of my decorating tips, frosting colors, couplers, smoothers, pastry bags, and most importantly my kitchen aid mixer. I told my sister as I was anticipating my new journey to be prepared with eating my practice cakes. So for the next three weeks at least, she or who ever she gives it to will hopefully be enjoying some good looking cakes. This weekend, I will be preparing my first batch of buttercream and cooking my first cake. I indecisive if I want to do a Mickey Mouse character cake or a round rainbow cake design. I'm looking forward to this new adventure and seeing where it takes me. Stay tuned over the next several weeks to the photos of my adventure!
