Course 4: fondant and gum paste

Tomorrow I will begin a new journey with cake decorating, fondant.  Today I had my experience of making marshmellow fondant.  It's quite an interesting and easy processing.  All it calls for is marshmellows, water, and a whole lot of powder sugar.  You do need some crisco on hand so your not stuck to your marshmellows.  I used my kitchenaid to begin the kneading process.  Once my fondant was formed around the dough hook, I took it out of the bowl and began the hand kneading process.  I think I was laughing the whole time.  What can get better with your  hand covered in crisco, powdered sugar, and marshmellows!!!  I hope this fondant is a little more tasty vs the store brand.
