Update!

I know I have been terrible at posting on the blog.  But really, has it been since August since I have posted?!  Well, let me give you some updates on what has all been happening:

  • Weight Loss:  I am now down 65 pounds total!  I have restarted personal training with a different trainer then previous.  He is awesome.  I chose to work with him due to my knee problems progressing and lack of strength.  I needed someone who wouldn't let me make excuses however knew my limits.  I still love going to the gym and often make it there 5 or 6 times a week.  I always say if I'm not at work or with Puzzle, I'm at the gym.  In January, I also completed my second sprint triathlon.  It was completed indoors, which made it quite nice.  I was able to get my person best with the time of 59 minutes and 38 seconds!  I was also able to make the accomplishment of running in intervals a total of 3/4 of a mile jog!  Since when did I like to jog?!
  • So, reading above, I mentioned my knees.  My left knee has progressed and has gotten worse.  However, so has the right.  Quite some time ago, I did see an orthopedic dr to get another look at them and find some options.  It has been determined that I torn cartilage on my right knee with mild misplacement of the patella.  On the left, through an MRI, was determined I don't have any cartilage on my patella.  I have had my left knee drained of fluid and injected with steriods and chicken product (for lubrication) on multiple occasions.  However, this has only been a quick fix and not long term.  Initially, I was to have right knee surgery at the end of May to fix cartilage and possible positioning of the knee cap.  Well, I found out Thursday, that surgery will be involving both the right and left knee.  Right will stay a cartilage repair.  The left will be more invasive.  Since I can pull my knee cap out of place with my hands, I will have reconstruction surgery on my tendon to stabilize the joint.  Thanks to mom and dad, they will come at the end of may and stay for a week or two to help me out.  God Bless them, I love my parents.
  • I continue to work at the skilled nursing facility.  I have been traveling a few times since our caseload has been down.  I went to Kellogg, ID (up North along the Montana boarder) as well as Lewiston, ID (mid ID to Northern ID).  I think I will stay in Nampa!!!
Puzzle continues to do great, especially at causing trouble.  The stove and the door under the stove now have safety locks.  Also, a safety lock is in place on the lazy susan cupboard.  The little guy is too smart for his own good.  He enjoys his doggy door, however, have to laugh because on multiple occasions he still sits at the door and waits for me to open it.  I just can't keep up with the guy.

Things have been buy  Between work, gym, puzzle and personal time (if there is any time left) I keep pretty busy.  Here are a few pics to enjoy!
